Jessica Sanchez, winner of “America’s Got Talent” 2025, is reflecting on how her faith is carrying her through the pressure of live competition despite being nine months pregnant with her first child as she anticipates becoming a first-time mum.
“My identity is in Christ, and that’s what has kept me steady through all of this,” the 30-year-old artist told The Christian Post after she was announced as a finalist. “No matter the outcome, I remind myself this is His will, not mine. That’s the only way I’ve been able to do this.”
For Sanchez, who first appeared on “America’s Got Talent” twenty years ago and later became the runner-up on “American Idol,” the return to television means living out a faith she says she discovered during a period away from music, and showing her soon-to-be-born daughter what it means to persist through struggle.

“It took me 20 years, but I know exactly who I am and exactly what I want,” she told the judges.
Sanchez first caught the attention of the judges this season with her audition performance of Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” which earned a Golden Buzzer from judge Sofia Vergara. She followed with JVKE’s “Golden Hour” in the semi-finals, drawing praise from both the judges and the audience.

Sanchez dominated the stage during the reality show’s finale night on Thursday, September 25, where she sang a soulful and stellar rendition of “Die With A Smile,” originally sung by fellow Filipino-American artist Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
Sanchez had no problem hitting the high notes despite being 9 months pregnant, as she impressed the judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, and Spice Girl member Mel B.
“What can I say? It’s perfection. You look like a little pregnant angel,” Vergara said after the performance, saying she’d never heard a voice like Sanchez’s singing.
