Christ Is The Head Part V
Beloved the Spirit of Truth knows all truth concerning your relationship with Christ, allow Him to always guide you. Our scriptural focus for today states – You died with Christ and were made free from the powers that influence this world. So why do you act as if you still belong to the world? I mean, why do you follow rules like these: Don’t eat this,” “Don’t taste that,” “Don’t touch that. {Col 2:20-21 ERV}
God gave the law of Moses that was based on don’t do this, do this if you must be made right with God. This was the only way to reach God in that generation, but God saw that this way did not make His people love and serve Him wholeheartedly out of reverence which was His intention, rather it made them live more like hypocrites, even against their own desire.
God had to do away with this process that is based on rules and regulations, because He wanted to raise a generation of people who will be free to serve and obey Him out of love and not out of fear.
Don’t eat this, Don’t taste that, Don’t touch that only makes humans serve God out of fear and compulsion. Beloved God gave us Christ to establish a new way of relationship with Him that is not based on rules and regulations but is based on a higher spiritual standard of living on this earth.
You have a higher spiritual standard in Christ, live by it.
