Don’t Follow Rules Part III
Beloved, God will always love you because love is His nature and not because of what you have done. Our scriptural focus for today states – Let no one defraud you by acting as an umpire and declaring you unworthy and disqualifying you for the prize, insisting on self-abasement and worship of angels, taking his stand on visions [he claims] he has seen, vainly puffed up by his sensuous notions and inflated by his unspiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit, [Col 2:18 Amp]
Practising the religious principles of self denial that is based on an individuals claim of having had visions or revelations, will never make you righteous, rather it will make you to be more legalistic and not Christlike.
Some persons are insisting on some self denial practice’s as a means to be righteous like – Women should not wear jewellery’s, they must only carry their natural hair, they must cover their hair while praying, etc and for the men – they must not cover their hair while praying, both men and women must not wear expensive clothing etc, some even teach fasting as a self denial practice.
Don’t allow anyone deceive you because they claim an angel revealed these practice’s to them, because these practice’s that have been brought into church are a product of unspiritual thoughts and fleshly conceit. Note the bible standpoint on such matter’s has always been on Moderation.
Angels are not the basis for your Faith.
