Living Right Part II
Beloved focus on the purpose of God for blessing you with His gifts, and don’t make a merchandise of it because one day you will surely give account of it. Our scriptural focus for today states – And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. {Col 2:6 NLT}
Apostle Paul wanted the Colossian brethren to know that accepting Jesus Christ into their lives as there Lord and Saviour was just the first step in discovering the life of grace God has created them to live on this earth and to equally know that their decision is not an end in itself but the beginning of a new process. He brings to their notice the main purpose of salvation which is to continue to follow Christ on a daily basis. He wanted the Colossian brethren to learn that the ultimate purpose of God was to raise men and women whose lifestyles will portray Christ in all that they engage in.
Beloved, the Holy Spirit is calling all of us who have accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour to move beyond the decision we have made that brought us to salvation and focus more on following Christ to become like Him. As you keep following Christ by beholding Him who is the glory of God, you’re been transformed into Christ which is the glory of God you’re beholding. You’re not to follow Christ for one week or one month or one year but you’re to follow Him all through your life time on this earth. You’re also not to follow Christ in times of abundance and no challenges, but you’re to follow Christ even in the face of challenging circumstances.
Keep following Christ, don’t stop following Him for anything in this world.
