The Marks Of Freedom Part IV
Beloved as believers in Christ, we are expected to be mirrors of Christ to the world around us. Our scriptural focus for today states – Those who are trying to force you to be circumcised want to look good to others. They don’t want to be persecuted for teaching that the cross of Christ alone can save. {Gal 6:12 NLT}
Don’t allow the fear of being persecuted either by fellow believers or by unbelievers induce you into taking stands that are against the purpose of Christ. The Jewish teachers/preachers in the days of Apostle Paul knew that if they insisted on the cross of Christ as the only source of salvation and totally renounce all rites and ceremonies of the law, they were in for great persecution, so they sort the easy way out which is by maintaining that the observance of the law was necessary and yet that Jesus was also the Messiah. This was an unhallowed compromise, its an attempt to blend two processes that can never be united.
We cannot over emphasize this truth that without the cross of Christ, there is no spiritual relationship between humans and God. Therefore His death and resurrection brought peace and eternal life into the human world. It is one thing to celebrate His death and resurrection which has become a huge fun fare in the human world but it is another thing altogether to receive the gains of His sacrifice into ones life and daily propagate it without fear of being misunderstood or persecuted. Be careful not to directly or indirectly embrace any gospel that subtly obscures the simple dependence on the Cross of Christ.
Christ is the only way to God.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
