Victory Over Sin Part III
The major purpose of the Bible is to proclaim God’s wonderful plan, through which He has ordained to save His children from this wicked world. Our scriptural focus for today states – Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. {Gal 5:25 NLT}
Victory of the sinful nature’s passions and desires has been provided by Christ in His death, but the believer must continually lay hold of this truth by faith or the believer will be tempted to try to secure his/her victory by self effort.
The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul reminds the Galatian Christians and all believers in Christ that in addition to a divine judgment of the sinful nature already achieved by Christ for us, there is also a divine enabler in the person of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that made the believer in Christ alive unto righteousness through regeneration of the spirit man.
The cultivation of the Fruit of the Holy Spirit is very important in the life of every believer, but we must work at having the right atmosphere. The right atmosphere in the life of a believer will give rise for the Fruit to grow and such atmosphere is created when the Holy Spirit leads through the word of God.
To live by the Spirit is to understand that every believer in Christ is a spirit being while still living in the human body. From the point of genuine salvation, the Holy Spirit comes into a human life and shares a relationship of cohabitation with that person, which empowers that person to live a spirit controlled life.
To live by the Spirit does not suggest that the believer in Christ loses the ability to function here on earth but refers to a spiritual relationship as God has intended from the very beginning of human existence.
