Products Of The Sinful Native Part IV
Beloved, that you had a bad mood is never an excuse to use cruel words on others, bad moods will come and go but cruel words wound the soul and spirit. Choose your words wisely. Our scriptural focus for today states – Idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division. {Gal 5:20 NLT}
Our study today will focus on the third category of the manifestation of the sinful nature in the lives of humans which is social sins/vices. These are the wrong expressions of the human emotions aimed at causing disaffection among people and capable of destroying relationships. Hostility, quarreling, outburst of anger, and dissension are all manifestations of the sinful nature that are byproducts of either jealousy or self ambition that is aimed at causing division either in the family, church or office etc.
Outburst of anger and quarreling is almost becoming an acceptable way of living among believers in Christ. Some in order to justify it now calls it “holy anger”. Hear what the Bible says about anger – And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry. {Eph 4:26 NLT}. When you as a believer in Christ allows anger to control you then, quarreling, hostility, dissension, division, jealousy and selfish ambition will become part and parcel of your life.
It will be important to state that as a believer in Christ, you have been empowered to live above these manifestation’s of the sinful nature. Learn to walk in love and there will not be any opportunity for the devil to manifest his nature through your life.
Don’t harbour anger but walk in love.
