Slavery and Freedom Part II
As a Christian, you don’t need to be weighed down or always troubled about what tomorrow holds for you. All you need is to be confident in the abilities of the One who knows tomorrow to guide you into your tomorrow. Our scriptural focus for today states – But the other woman, Sarah, represents the heavenly Jerusalem. She is the free woman, and she is our mother. {Gal 4:26 NLT}
Apostle Paul on the other hand, describes Sarah the covenant wife of father Abraham as representing the heavenly Jerusalem and the mother of all children of grace. The Jerusalem been described here is a spiritual city, which is free from all forms of bondage and sin. It is not the same with the earthly Jerusalem that is in bondage with all who have chosen to belong to it.
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ offered the entire human race a privileged life in this heavenly Jerusalem, and as many who has made or will make the deliberate choice of accepting Jesus Christ into their life as their Lord and personal Saviour, has freed themselves from the bondage of the earthly Jerusalem, and will henceforth enjoy the freedom offered by Christ as members of His new family.
If you are a member of this heavenly Jerusalem, it is important you know without any shadow of doubt that you’re free from all forms of bondage and corruption offered by the devil through sin. You’re no longer a slave to sin nor are you in bondage to any known or unknown ancestral cures, been made a member of Christ family here on earth has totally set you free.
