Life Through Faith Part III

Divine strength does not come from doing what you can do naturally, but it comes from overcoming the things you once thought you cannot do by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our scriptural focus for today states – But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. {Gal: 3:13 NLT}
The curse of the law was the major deficiency of the old covenant. It was introduced to ensure compliance but unfortunately it did not achieve the expected obedience from the people of Israel and the result was the punishment for disobedience which was the curse pronounced in the law. Disobedience to the provisions of the law became a curse because the obedience it demanded was a forced obedience. The curse of the law made humans see themselves as sinners in the hands of an angry God.
The death and resurrection of Christ was intended to change the human perspective towards God and to reveal the loving Father that He{God} has always been from the beginning.
There was also another side to the curse of the law as contained in the book of Leviticus, like in Lev 21 – A priest must not touch a dead body, he can only marry a virgin, the high priest cannot do burials nor leave his head uncombed, if anyone in Aaron’s lineage has any defect like – hunchback,  blind, lame, disfigured, deformed, any eye defect, dwarf, has a broken feet or arm, skin sores or scabs, etc such person’s will never be allowed to minister at the alter of the Lord because they are considered unclean. A woman under her monthly period cannot be allowed into the temple to worship.
As believers Christ has rescued us from these and many more curses pronounced in the law that disqualified some humans from attaining their full potentials in God.

Christ did it all, Grace is beautiful

Have a Grace filled day, Good News awaits you.
