The Effects of Compromise Part III

The reality that all humans must come to terms with is that we are Nothing without Christ, but we are Everything in Him. Ensure that the image of Christ is stamped deep in your soul. Our scriptural focus for today states – When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions. {Gal 2:14  NLT}
Apostle Paul would have never confronted Apostle Peter, if he didn’t find him deviating from the truth of the gospel message. He also did not confront him to established his superiority, nor was it to project his personal image and underplay Apostle Peter before the other brethren, rather he did it to protect the gospel and preserve the Gentile revival. By Apostle Peter’s action, he was already living like the Gentile, so it will be hypocritical for him to demand that the Gentile Christians start living according to the standards of the Jewish religion.
Hear this – An open rebuke is better than hidden love. {Prov 27:5  NLT}. It will be wrong to cover the hypocritical behaviour of another believer because he/she is a leader, your friend or a blood relation at the expense of the gospel. An open rebuke that will save his/her Christian-life and preserve the truth of the Gospel is far better than a secret love that is only meant to protect the ego /image of the person. It is important that you as a believer will always put the interest of the gospel over and above every other interest. Lets learn from the boldness and uprightness of Apostle Paul, and exhibit same wherever we find ourselves.

Be bold and courageous

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
