Unity in Christ Part II

Nobody can take away the pain you will encounter in the course of your life here on earth but God, so don’t allow anyone or situation take away the joy/happiness the Holy Spirit supplies into your life. Our scriptural focus for today states –  But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile Christians, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision. {Gal 2: 11 – 12 NLT}
The freedom Apostle Peter shared with the Gentile Christians was short lived, when some Jewish Christians who belong to the circumcision party arrived. This group of Jewish Christians believe that circumcision is a necessity for salvation. For fear of been criticised by these people who did not understand the free gift of salvation in Christ, Apostle Peter broke the unity and fellowship he was enjoying with the Gentile Christians. What a subtle way the devil came in to destroy that revival. The devil always looks for subtle ways to come in and destroy the work of revival Christ is doing in His church by making some Christians see some religious traditions that God has abolished as a requirement for salvation.
Do not be in the class of Christians who are holding on to religious traditions that Christ abolished through His passion on the cross, as a necessity for salvation. Things like circumcision has been done away with, and it will be important to state that there are no conditions for salvation, order than opening your heart to Christ.

Salvation has no religious traditions.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
