Recognising The Assignment Part V

As a believer, God’s plan for your life goes far beyond whatever you can think or imagine for yourself, never allow the devil deceive you into losing hope on God, because He is dependable. Our scriptural focus for today states – Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do. {Gal 2:10  NLT}
The advice of the church leaders to Apostle Paul and his team was a godly one, and they received it with an open heart because it was intended to advance the cause of the gospel. Their advice was – ‘Keep helping the poor’. Apostle Paul was already eager to help the poor wherever the assignment of Christ took him to. The issue of helping the poor isn’t first about people who lack the money and the basic things of life that make living here on earth comfortable, rather it is first about those who lack Christ and the grace that saves humans from eternal damnation.
The first purpose of the gospel is to bring poor and helpless sinners to Christ to be transformed, because spiritual poverty is the worst thing that can ever happen to any human.
Hear this – You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich. {2Cor 8:9  NLT}. It is the grace of God as manifested by Christ that guarantees total liberation from poverty. Our duty as believers is to always see the poverty of our fellow humans who do not have Christ and to do all within our reach to help them. We don’t help the poor as philanthropists do who only receive the praise of men, but as spiritual men/women on assignment to fulfill God’s eternal agenda for humans.

Help the poor, fulfill the purpose of Christ.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
