The Source of The Gospel Part II
I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ. {Gal 1:12 NLT}
As a believer, success in life isn’t the absence of some wrong decisions, rather it is the ability to turn even wrong decisions around by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our scriptural focus for today states – I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.
Apostle Paul states again that the gospel did not originate from man, because man-made gospels emphasizes human merits and the necessity of human works for salvation. He also had to clarify that he did not receive the gospel from any human source, even though he heard Stephen preach and had personal contacts with Ananias and Barnabas. He makes bold to say, that he received this precious gospel by revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ. The source of his gospel was from the one who originated the gospel, and as such cannot be wrong.
It is very important as representatives of Christ here on earth to be sure of the source of the gospel we both practice and preach, because many gospels are in town today that Christ is not the source. If Christ is the source of your gospel, like apostle paul you will always enjoy divine revelations and not depend on man-made sources. It is the revelation you receive from Christ through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that empowers the gospel you preach. Apostle paul was in the first generation preachers, and as such didn’t have Holy Spirit inspired human sources to learn from, but in our generation we are privileged to have both direct revelations from Christ and other Holy Spirit inspired sources. Make the best of them.
