The Secret of Contentment Part III

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. {Phil 4:11  NLT}

A contented heart/mind is an invaluable blessing from God, and should characterize the lifestyle of every true believer. It arises from the unwavering belief that God is in charge of your life. Our scriptural focus for today states – Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
Apostle was quick to let his Philippian brethren know that he was not complaining at the way things has gone in his life. He did not blame the devil for creating those needs nor did he blame the devil for the lack of care/concern of the brethren, rather it was a Learning Process for him. Hear this wise saying – Behind every glory, there is a story. Why not see those challenging needs as part of the stories that will produce the glory, and to do it this way, you must rely on the virtue of godliness that is garnished with Contentment.
The preaching of money in the Church today that is misunderstood with the gospel of prosperity has done more damage both to believers and the gospel of Christ than adversity has really done. It brought among other things the Get Rich Quick Syndrome that is ravaging the Church today. To follow the Lord and achieve His purpose for your life, you must throwaway Impatience and its likes and embrace contentment. Some Believers are suffering from envy, jealousy and exhibiting all kinds of dubious behaviours because they have not learned to be contented with the much God has given them. Stop comparing yourself with other people be contented with yourself.

Learn to be satisfied with yourself.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
