The Secret of Contentment Part I

How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. {Phil 4:10  NLT}

In this days of technological advancements, the world is focusing less on the divine Providence of God. We sometimes get the idea that the world is a vast natural machine, that even God may not be able to interrupt the wheels as they are turning, but bear in mind that as believers we are a product of God’s divine Providence. Our scriptural focus for today states – How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me.

The divine Providence of God is the working of God in advance to arrange circumstances and situations for the fulfilment of His purposes in the life of His children. God in His Providence caused the Philippian church to become concerned about the needs of His servant [Apostle Paul], as he was carrying out his assignment. It came at a time Apostle Paul needed their love and care the most. Apostle Paul did not hide the way he felt about the genuine concern of the Philippian brethren. It gladdened his heart, because it was a great encouragement to him and he couldn’t help but praise God who has made it possible.

That the brethren at Philippi, has always been concerned about the welfare of the servant of God but did not have the opportunity to help, is a demonstration of true Christianity.

The question is – Are you among those believers today who have the opportunities to help Gods servants, or other believers but you lack the concern? or Are you like the Philippian brethren who are always concerned about Gods people but you lack the opportunity. Your stepping out today to help another believer will leave praises, joyful celebrations and rekindle hope in the life of that believer.

Let’s be concerned one for another

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
