Living In The Light V

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. {Phil 4:6  TLB}

To be renewed in the spirit of your mind, simply means to allow the Holy Spirit change the attitudes/characters you inherited from the fallen nature of man, because until there is change in attitude conversion is not complete. Our scriptural focus for today states – Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.
Worrying becomes an inevitable lifestyle for a believer, when you carelessly allows your Spiritual Strength to be exhausted by neglecting the spiritual exercises that should build you up. Prayer is one of those spiritual exercise that the Holy Spirit uses to transfer spiritual strength into the life of a believer.
Apostle Paul also encourages the Philippian brethren not just to pray to fulfill all righteousness but to pray with expectation. Expectation gives focus/direction to the prayer of the believer. Apostle Paul advises that our disposition after praying for any need should be that of Thanksgiving in anticipation of the answer. Note that Thanksgiving after praying is built on Expectation, while expectation is rooted in the infallibility of God’s integrity.
Thanksgiving after praying is the actual expression of faith. Your prayer become one done in faith, when after praying you can dispel doubt and express your confidence in God’s ability to meet that need by thanking Him in advance for the answer. Even when the situation is still contrary to your expectation, do not shift ground’s, keep thanking Him by declaring your expected answer. Don’t stop seeing God doing new things in your life no matter how bad things are now, because if you do worry and anxiety will set in and there aim will be to destroy your spiritual life.

Thanksgiving is an expression of faith.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you
