Standing Fast I
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work. {Phil 4:1 NLT}
One of the major concerns of Christ in this generation is to see believers in their day to day lifestyle be characterized by the fruit of the Holy Spirit, in such a way that the world truly recognises us as His ambassadors. Our scriptural focus for today states – Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stay true to the Lord. I love you and long to see you, dear friends, for you are my joy and the crown I receive for my work. Apostle Paul’s love for the Philippians , which is evident throughout this letter, is especially apparent in the opening verses of this chapter.
He want them to stand true to the Lord Jesus Christ in all they do as believers, but this can only be possible when they deliberately make Christ the Central figure in their lives.
In our current generation, there are a lot of things contending with believers, and deliberately trying to derail us from standing true to the Lord Jesus and all that He represents. It is obvious that we need to pay more attention to genuinely demonstrating our love for one another, as Apostle Paul did to the Philippians. This phrase – I love you and long to see you dear friends, is a true reflection of the love and affection he shared with the brethren.
Let’s share greater love and affection among ourselves as believers.
As you genuinely labour over the lives of people in your own area of assignment, be encouraged that those lives will in turn be the reward you will receive from the Lord at His appearing.
The live you influence for Christ are the proof of your work.
