Faith Righteousness IV
And become one with him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. {Phil 3:9 NLT}
It is far more honourable and profitable to be saved by Gods mercy and grace, than to strive to save yourself by good works, it is also more glorious and rewarding to depend on God for your righteousness than to depend on anything you can do. Our scriptural focus for today states – Rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith. From Apostle Paul’s perspective, righteousness is a gift from God and as such anyone who will enjoy it will require Faith to receive it. It will be important to state that – Faith is the only God ordained means of actual interest and saving benefit in all that Christ purchased for humans through His blood. Let’s consider the following:
1. God is the author of pardon/forgiveness, and this is a part of the righteousness which the person who is justified by faith receives freely.
2. The person that receives righteousness by faith is treated by God, henceforth as though he/she has never sinned before.
3. Receiving righteousness by faith is the basis for living and enjoying the life of Grace.
‘For Gods way of making us right with Himself depends on faith’ – This statement makes it very clear that if you will dare to believe God by faith through the finished work of Christ, please note that you don’t need any other religious practice/sacrifice, nor do you need deliverance from either the sins of your fathers house or curses from your foundation to make yourself right with Him. Your right standing with God has been purchased for you by Christ, because His death on the cross satisfied Gods anger towards humans once and for all, but He only requires that you receive it by Faith. Faith gives you access into all the treasures God has laid up for you on this earth.
Start living by Faith.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
