For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. {Phil 2:13 NLT}
God has a special purpose He wants every of His child to fulfill on this earth, bearing in mind that we are all unique in creation. Imitating someone else is a misplacement of the unique creation purpose. Our scriptural focus for today states – For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. In this scripture, Apostle Paul lays a fundamental principle for discipleship and spiritual growth, – ‘God must work in you before He can work through you to reach the world’. This principle is evidently seen throughout the scriptures in the lives of men and women that God used to accomplish great heights. Doing the will/purpose of God on this earth is not by our personal decision or will power, rather it is clear that God is the one that creates the desire in us to do what pleases Him.
The life of Righteousness is the only way to please God on this earth and no believer can achieve it independent of God. Gods desire is for humans to always depend on Him to accomplish spiritual goals.
It will be wrong to think or say – because God is working in me, i dont need to make any effort, i will just wait patiently for Him and i know at the end victory will be mine.
It will be important to note that God does not take actions for us as humans were we need to, rather He leads us by speaking His will to our spiritman/mind. The ounce will always be on us to follow His leadings. Bear in mind that God in His bid to help you do those things that please Him, will never compel or force you against your own will. The mark of a true child of God, is that person who God can always influence to do His will, without that person feeling pressured or compel.
The Will of God, becomes your Will the day you gave your life to Jesus.
