As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. {Eph 5:24 NLT}
Having dealt extensively on the issue of submission as a major responsibility of a wife towards her own husband, taking it further, it will be very important to state at this point that, it should be a joyful act on the part of the wife and not forced on her by her husband. Our scriptural focus for today states – As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husband’s in everything. Our scriptural focus has established that there is No Limit when it comes to the issue of the submission of a wife to her husband. The position of the Bible is that submission should be in Everything, and God means in Everything, because from the beginning He{God} made a husband and wife achieve Oneness in Marriage. You will agree that women have a higher tendency to be more secretive than men, thence the introduction of the principle of submission in everything to help overcome that tendency and introduce Openness/Oneness in the family. There are two major area’s that demonstrates the submission of a wife to her husband;
1. Finance – In our world today, there is a paradigm shift in the area of family financing. Women are now earning good incomes either in there personal business or office. For a godly wife, the bigger your income, the greater your submission, the smaller your income the greater your submission. God expects you as a godly wife to show to the world that submission is not determined by the smallness or greatest of your income as a wife.
2. Sex – The issue of sex has been misused in marriage, sometimes it has been used as an avenue for retaliation. It is part of your Righteousness as a godly wife to submit to your husband sexually.
The church submits to Christ on the basis of love, let love for Christ also be the basis for your submission to your own husband, as a godly wife.
As a godly wife, if you can submit to your husband in these two major area’s, you will be able to submit to him in everything.
Have a Grace filled day. – Good News awaits you
