15 And so we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like God’s very own children, adopted into the bosom of his family, and calling to him, “Father, Father.” 16 For his Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts and tells us that we really are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we will share his treasures—for all God gives to his Son Jesus is now ours too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. [Rm 8: 15 – 17 TLB]

Fear comes out of being in bondage – bondage of sin, bondage of death, bondage of sickness, bondage of ancestral issues, bondage of failure, etc.

As children of God, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, we are expected by God to live above such…. on believing and receiving Jesus Christ in our lives. There was a part of Him we received –

1. His Righteousness

2. His Faith

3. His Life

4. His Spirit..

Franklin Roosevelt said – ‘the only thing to fear is fear itself,it is a nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzed needed efforts to convert retreat into advance’.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear rather, it is pressing forward even while the feeling of fear is present.

As Christians, most times what we fear is uncalled for – we fear new heights/responsibilities, growth, etc.

Howbeit in all things, hear God’s promise to you – Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand [Isa.41:10 TLB].

One major way to overcome fear is His word and the consciousness of the Father’s love – Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. [1John 4:18 -19 NLT].

Its clear that perfect love casts out all fear even the wrong fear of knowing God. Make it a part of your life to live in the consciousness of His love and always get excited about every step of responsibility and progress taken..
