Question 1 – Since the gift is for the benefit of the body of Christ and the vessel being used, Can the vessel misuse the gift?
Yes it is possible for the vessel being used by God to manifest a particular gift/gifts to misuse the gift/gifts if he/she fails to understand the purpose for the gift/gifts and allows pride to come in. Secondly when the vessel begins to misplace his/her priority concerning the use of the gift/gifts.
Question 2 – In what ways can a vessel being used by God misuse his/her gift/gifts?
1. By not applying godly wisdom in the use of the gift/gifts
2. By using the gift/gifts for wealth creation
3. Using the gift/gifts to promote the personality of the vessel.
Question 3 – How can a believer guide against misusing the gift/gifts
1. By not being greedy.
2. Do not compare yourself with the success of other believers
3. Do not see financial blessings as the ultimate or the purpose for the gift/gifts
4. Allow the Holy Spirit to give you an understanding of the purpose for the gift/gifts.
5. Always remember that the gift/gifts God has blessed you with is for the benefit of the body of Christ. Therefore use it wisely and efficiently. Ask God for divine wisdom.
6. Deliberately staying away from pride, covetousness and embracing a lifestyle of humility and contentment.
7. Stay away from the preaching of money as the basis for the ministry
