It was a sad day for the world of wrestling as wrestling star Hulk Hogan passed away at his home in Florida on Thursday morning at age 71. But there’s one thing to be joyful about—he had recently made Jesus Christ his Lord and Saviour, and was very vocal about his newfound faith.

Hulk Hogan

Terry Bollea, popularly known as Hulk Hogan, was perhaps the biggest star in WWE’s long history, being awarded at least six WWE championships. The famous wrestler, known for his horseshoe-shaped mustache, Hulkamania bandana, blond locks, and massive muscles, earned celebrity far beyond the wrestling world, starring in numerous movies and television shows as well.

Despite being one of the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry, Hulk who recently got baptized with his wife, Sky Daily Hogan, said that eternal treasures are much more important than anything else. “The only thing that is really real is the stuff that’s gonna last forever – your faith and belief in God,” he said.

“Knowing that once you’ve accepted Christ as your savior, you gonna have everlasting life and that belief is pretty much the only thing that is real” he said.

Hogan and his wife were baptized in December of 2023 at the Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Florida.

He shared a video on Instagram of him and his wife being submerged in a pool of water and coming up smiling, an experience he described as “Total surrender and dedication to Jesus,” stating that it was “the greatest day of my life.”

That wasn’t the first time Hogan publicly spoke about his Christian faith.

In April 2023, he shared on his social media account, “I accepted Christ as my savior at 14 yrs old, and the training, prayers, and vitamins kept me in the game. But now that I am one with God, the main event theme of surrender, service, and love makes me the Real Main Event that can slam any giant of any size through the power of my Lord and Savior and so it is, even now brother, AMEN!”

In an interview with TBN before his death, Hogan said that attaining fame and fortune did not fulfill him. “I was always a believer, but I didn’t completely surrender,” Hogan began. “I thought I could drive better than He could. I thought I could make the decisions better than He could. And now He takes His hands off the wheel and says, ‘Okay. You think you can do it better, go ahead and do it.’ So, like I said, I got tired of crashing and burning…”
