Jesus Christ and The Law

Jesus Christ was not physically born into the New Testament Christianity as we have it today because Christianity was not yet in existence as at the time of His human revelation into this world through the physical birth process. It will be important to understand that He was born under the law and its requirements. He was born under the law because that was what was available for God to work with at the time of His birth.

But when the right time finally came, God sent his own Son. He came as the son of a human mother and lived under the Jewish Law, 5 to redeem those who were under the Law, so that we might become God’s children.
(Gal 4:4-5 GNT)

All through His earthly ministry, He lived and operated under the law, but was laying the foundation for the New Testament Christianity. The steps He took which were directly opposite the laid down requirements of the Law brought about constant conflicts between Jesus Christ and the leaders of the Judaism of His day.

His mission on earth was to first save those who were under the law at the time of His human revelation/birth by announcing the kick starting of a new way of fellowshipping with God which will be a departure from the law that He was born under. This new way will only come into effect after His death and resurrection.

This confirms why His message to those under the law was – From that time Jesus began to preach his message: “Turn away from your sins, because the Kingdom of heaven is near. (Matt 4:17 GNT)

The kingdom has not yet arrived, rather His death and resurrection brought the kingdom of God to the earth.
This explains why after His death and resurrection – The kingdom of God arrived in the human world.

By his death he ended the whole system of Jewish law that excluded the Gentiles. His purpose was to make peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new person from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death, and our hostility toward each other was put to death. (Eph 2:15 – 16)

Through His death and resurrection, He delivered those who were under the law at that time and established the New Testament Christianity which is a total departure from the law. It is the privileged life in Christ – Hallelujah

Dear Christian – Enjoy this new privileged life that Christ has given you and don’t allow anyone under any disguise to rob you of your privileges, opportunities and power that comes with your new life in Christ.
