The New Testament is full of powerful scriptures about faith that feel like encouragement, reminders, and even challenges to trust God more. They’re written in a way that’s both personal and relatable, like a friend saying, “Hey, don’t worry—God’s got this.” Here are some of my favorites, written in a more conversational tone:
Hebrews 11:1:
“Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we can’t see.”
It’s like saying, “Faith is trusting that what God has promised is real, even when it’s not right in front of you yet.”
- Matthew 17:20:
Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell a mountain to move, and it will. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
It’s such a cool reminder that even a tiny bit of faith can do huge things. Like, “Don’t stress about how much faith you have—just use what you’ve got, and watch what God can do.” - Mark 11:24:
Jesus also said, “When you pray, believe that you’ve already received what you’re asking for, and it will be yours.”
It’s like He’s saying, “Pray with confidence, not doubt. Trust that God hears you and is working things out.” - Romans 10:17:
“Faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes from the word of God.”
This one’s like a little nudge: “If you want your faith to grow, spend time in God’s Word. It’s where faith starts and grows.” - 2 Corinthians 5:7:
“We live by faith, not by sight.”
It’s a reminder that life with God isn’t about having all the answers or seeing everything clearly. It’s about trusting Him even when the path ahead feels uncertain. - James 2:17:
“Faith by itself, if it’s not accompanied by action, is dead.”
This one’s a challenge: “Real faith isn’t just something you say—it’s something you do. Let your actions show what you believe.” - Hebrews 11:6:
“Without faith, it’s impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
It’s like saying, “Faith is the key to connecting with God. Believe He’s real, and trust that He’ll take care of you when you seek Him.” - Ephesians 2:8-9:
“You’ve been saved by grace through faith—and this isn’t something you did on your own. It’s a gift from God, not something you earned by your works.”
This one’s so comforting: “Your relationship with God isn’t about being perfect or doing enough. It’s about trusting in His grace.” - 1 Peter 1:8-9:
“Even though you haven’t seen Him, you love Him. And even though you don’t see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with joy. You’re receiving the salvation of your souls as the result of your faith.”
It’s like a reminder that faith isn’t about physical proof—it’s about trusting in a God you can’t see but who fills your life with love and joy. - John 20:29:
After Thomas doubted Jesus’ resurrection, Jesus told him, “Because you’ve seen Me, you’ve believed. Blessed are those who haven’t seen and yet have believed.”
It’s like Jesus is saying, “It’s great to believe when you see, but there’s a special blessing for those who trust Me even when they can’t see.”
These scriptures texts serve as little lifelines, encouraging us to have confidence in God even in the face of uncertainty. They are not only about believing in anything; they are about trusting in a God who is consistently dependable, moral, and helpful.
