The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has emphasized the importance of Christians extending their assistance to the less privileged.
As reported by Church Times News Online, Pastor Kumuyi delivered this message during a recent sermon titled “Emmanuel, Jesus the Healer,” which was monitored by our correspondent.
Reflecting on a story he heard about a preacher elsewhere, Kumuyi shared, “I heard of a preacher who instructed his congregation during the offering time. He asked those with N10,000 to give, then those with N20,000, and even those with N50,000. He directed them to give all they intended for the church directly to the impoverished in their communities.”

He emphasized, “Offerings shouldn’t be solely for the church. There are numerous needy and unemployed individuals nearby. While we are focused on developing our church grounds, our neighbors are suffering. There are people without food, without means to educate their children—our brothers and sisters in need.”
