The Fruit Of Disobedience Part IV
Beloved, to get rid of the sinful nature, you must delibrately allow the Holy Spirit form His new lifestyle in you through His Fruit. Our scriptural focus for today states – But now put away and rid yourselves [completely] of all these things: anger, rage, bad feeling toward others, curses and slander, and foulmouthed abuse and shameful utterances from your lips! {Col 3:8 AMP}
The Holy Spirit expects every believer to completely get rid of these attitudes of the sinful nature that do not reflect our new lifestyle in Christ. All of the attitudes of the sinful nature mentioned in our scriptural focus are all an expression of emotions but in the wrong direction.
Beloved the Holy Spirit is interested in the right use of our emotions, so He wants us to master our emotions, in order to ensure that they aline with the nature of Christ we have received. Always bear in mind that no negative expression of our emotions will ever bring glory to God, rather it will always give room for unbelievers to mock the name of God.
The Holy Spirit wants every believer to live with the consciousness that He has empowered us to live everyday above these negative expressions of our emotions.
