We have been on this series for eight Saturday’s running – Tips for maintaining sexual integrity as believers. We have maintained that sexual integrity is basically about faithfulness to the marriage covenant for married people or purity in relationship for engaged people.
Tip 9: GET GRACE
It isn’t the sinless person who makes it to the end; rather, it is the person who has learned to pick himself/herself up after he/she stumbles, through the arms of Grace. Grace is Gods ability given to humans to be able to do what naturally they were unable to do. If you’re struggle seems relentless, remember this: when you commit yourself to sexual integrity, you commit yourself to a direction, not to perfection. You may stumble along the way – that’s no justification for sin, just a realistic view of life in this fallen world. What determines the success or failure of an imperfect person, is his/her willingness to pick himself/herself up, confess his/her faults, and continue in the direction he/she committed himself/herself to through Grace. Remember Paul’s approach: “Forgetting those things that are behind, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. ” (Phillippians 3: 13 – 14 NLT}
Always depend on Grace, Be committed to a life of discipline.
