So that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. {Phil 2:15 NLT}
As believers, it has become very important that we must let our light shine before people who have not discovered the way of salvation, in order to win them for Christ. Our scriptural focus for today states – So that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Christ lives inside you, that you may live a higher life here on earth. Believers are required by God to live their lives not according to the standards of this world that is established on sin but to live according to the standards established in the scriptures through righteousness.
The more you live your life on the same standards with unbelievers, the more you open up your life for criticism, the more your life is surrounded by a lot of controversy, but the more you live your life on the higher standards of righteousness, the more you exempt yourself from criticism, the more you become a reference point for both believers and unbelievers to emulate.
That we live in a world filled with crooked and perverse people is no longer an issue. It would have been a big issue if Christ has not died to offer the world an option of living clean and innocent lives here on earth. What actually makes you a child of God, is when you live a clean and innocent life, shining like bright lights in the mist of this dark world.
The Big question is – In the day to day running of my business for those in business, or in my office for those in paid employment, or in the discharge of my ministerial assignment for those in church ministry, can you and those you relate with boldly say that – You’re a child of God not because of the church you attend nor position you occupy in church, but because your character/attitude is clean, and you’re shining forth the light of righteousness.
Be clean, Shine the light of Christ in darkness.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
