The Secret of Contentment VI

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. {Phil 4:13  NLT}

The overruling Providence of God and the unfailing power of God are two spiritual resources from which we can draw spiritual strength from as believers to face the daily challenges of this life. Our scriptural focus for today states – For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Apostle Paul’s experiences in the various stages of life that the Holy Spirit has guided him through, brought him to this conclusion and he now expresses the firm confidence that nothing would be required of him which he would not be able to perform. Jesus has not asked us as believers to endeavor to know all things, so that we can do all things, rather He only requires that we desire daily to know Him more and more and He will keep supplying the ability to know and do all things.

The abilities that Christ supplies that will enable you do all things is not limited to spiritual things alone, it is all encompassing. It is an empowerment for every field of life. Hence forth, you need not sink under any trail or temptation because Christ is able to make away of escape.

Jesus taught this same principle in the sermon on the vine and branches in John 15. He is the Vine and believers are the branches. The branch cannot bear fruit through its own self-effort, but by drawing on the life/resources of the vine. As you maintain an unbroken relationship with Christ, the power of God is been released into your life, then you start developing the spiritual muscles/capacity to do things beyond your natural abilities.

I am self-sufficient in Christ sufficiency.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
