The Message Of Christ Part I
Beloved, the peace that Christ offer’s a believer is not available in this world, rather it only comes into a human life through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Our scriptural focus for today states – Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. {Col 3:16 NLT}
The coming of Jesus Christ into the human world did not abolish the old testament, rather He(Christ) became the fulfilment of everything spoken in the old testament. So to still teach or preach the old testament in the New testament with the perspective it was written to the Jews, is definitely not the message of Christ. There is always the temptation to practice the old testament principles in the New testament without reflecting Christ, this we as Believers must be careful about.
As Believers in Christ, we must learn to read/study the Bible and practice it from the perspective of the finished work of Christ, especially the old testament. You must always bear in mind that the old testament was a shadow of Jesus Christ and now that we are privileged to have the Real Thing which is Christ, we should allow the message about Him to mould our lives and determine our character/behaviours as Believers.
