The Work of Christ VI
I will say it again: if anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God’s curse fall upon him. {Gal 1:9 TLB}
When the devil succeeds in corrupting the message of grace through all manner of adulterated teachings, the way of salvation will be in confusion and humans will be in danger of being eternally lost. Our scriptural focus for today states – I will say it again: if anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God’s curse fall upon him.
In this verse Apostle Paul seemed to repeat himself, but he is actually stating the gravity of God’s judgement that will come on those who pervert the gospel of grace. It is not difficult to understand why apostle paul reacted so strongly on this matter, because the judaizers were assaulting the cross of Christ, for if human works were necessary for salvation, then the work of Christ was not sufficient.
It will be important for believers to bear in mind that their is no point anyone will get to in life and spirituality that he/she{whether a minister or a follower} now has the liberty to introduce and practice doctrines that are unscriptural and Christ will accept it as being correct.
Any corruption or perversion of the Gospel of Grace by any human, no matter how highly or lowly placed he/she is will attract God’s divine judgement and same judgement will equally come on those who they succeeded in deceiving.
The gospel of grace that brought salvation to all humans may look simple, please keep living daily by it because in it lays the great and awesome power of God. The perversion of the gospel of grace looks very attractive because it seeks among other things to take away total dependence of Christ and introduces a liberal system that acknowledges human effort as a key to success.
