The Effects of Compromise Part II
When you go through difficult times as a child of God, know that such challenges did not come to destroy you, rather they are meant to promote, increase and strengthen you. Our scriptural focus for today states – When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions. {Gal 2:14 NLT}
Apostle Paul was not carried away by the hypocritical behaviour of Peter, Barnabas and the other Jewish Christians, no wonder he was able to see that their behaviour was not in agreement with the gospel message. It will be important to note that the Lifestyle of every believer must agree with the message they are preaching, for the message to be effective. When Paul noticed a disagreement in the lifestyle of some of the brethren with the gospel message, he did not keep quite, neither did he turn a blind eye saying its not my personal business.
As Christian, are you more interested in preaching the gospel alone, without taking heed to your personal lifestyle if it is in agreement with the Truth of the gospel message. The question is – Are you following the truth of the gospel message or it is the world systems you’re following?. Bear in mind that God is no respecter of person’s. It will be profitable for both you and the gospel to commit your life to truly following the truth of the gospel message wherever you find yourself. Don’t allow you’re environment determine your Christianity.
Follow and live the Gospel
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
