The Same Message Part I
While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing. {Gal 2:2 NLT}
As believers, we are not always going to understand why something’s happen in our lives, but true Bible faith is trusting God even when circumstances of life are contrary to your expectations. Our scriptural focus for today states – While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles.
Apostle Paul went to Jerusalem, this time to privately consult with the leaders of the church concerning the message he has been preaching to the Gentile’s for fourteen years. This consultation was not really about the truth or accuracy of the message he had been preaching, for he had received it by revelation from God, rather he wanted the leadership of the church to consider the relationship of his message to the Gentile’s and their own message to the Jews.
Apostle Paul was making a bold statement for this generation to learn from, that he was sent to the Gentile’s and that he received the message by revelation did not give him the right to dilute the content of the message or be preaching a message that is entirely different from what the church in Jerusalem was preaching. Sharing with the leadership of the church in Jerusalem, was also a demonstration of humility by Apostle Paul. Lets learn to follow these examples in this era, for it will great help the gospel of Christ.
Take heed to the message.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
