Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites. {Eph 6:9 NLT}
Good attitude is not just a requirement for the led, but also for the leaders. Being the one saddled with the responsibility to lead others either in the church or in the circular office is not a license to have bad attitude. Our scriptural focus for today states – Masters treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten then, remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and He has no favourites. Having established that the death and resurrection of Christ has abolished the issue of slavery as practiced in Judaism, our scriptural focus for today is a wake-up call to good and responsible leadership both in the church and in the circular offices. God expects you as a leader, at any level to treat those you’re leading well, show them love, treat them with respect and be an example to them. As a believer, do not lead like unbelievers who adopt all manner of harsh methods to instill fear in their followers, in order to achieve obedience. Using harsh methods like;
1. Threats
2. Cursing
3. Intimidation etc
Is not expected from Christian leaders at any level, because both the leader and the led have one Master in heaven, which is God. He will not over look your bad attitude just because you’re the leader. He does not have favourites, He has an attribute called Justice, which makes Him to be fair to all. Also remember that as a leader, you’re accountable to God who has given you the privilege to lead others.
Leadership requires good attitude
