Christ The Liberator Part III
We can trust hearing God’s voice through Christ, because all of God’s estate has been committed to Christ to ensure that humans live the God kind of life here on earth. Our scriptural focus for today states – I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. {Gal 5:3 NLT}
The Holy Spirit wanted the Galatian Christians to now for sure that turning to the law ruins the work of grace and it also creates an entirely new obligation. An obligation to carry an unnecessary yoke that Christ has saved them from. The yoke of the law/religion is very hard and the burden is heavy for humans to carry but the yoke of Christ is easy and His burden very light. The Holy Spirit wants believers to know that when we opened put our heart to Christ through salvation, we lost the yoke of servitude to the law and sin and we were clothed with the grace that only Christ can offer. Apostle Paul warms the Galatian Christians of the danger of going back to the slavery of the devil through the back door of the law. He draws their attention to the fact that obedience under the law is such that when they offend in one requirement of the law, they equally offend in all. Those who submit themselves to obey the law, does not enjoy any spiritual empowerment that enables them obey freely without stress and compulsion.
It is important to state that no human can find favour with God through obedience to the law. The law enslaved those to which it was given, therefore God brought grace through the death and resurrection of Christ to eternally liberate humans from the yoke and burden of the law. Don’t allow any person deceive you into going back to the practices in the law as a means of pleasing God.
The law brought obedience by compulsion, Grace brought obedience by love.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
