Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy. {Phil 2:18 NLT}
The problem is really not difficult, Apostle Paul in this whole episode is enjoining believers to reach for the stars, though the higher the goal, the more we ought to achieve the purpose of God relying on the divine power at work within us. Our scriptural focus for today states – Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy. Apostle Paul sees from the perspective that because of his unity with the Philippians, what affects one person, should affect all.
Apostle Paul felt that this was an occasion both for him and all who love him to rejoice, if he was permitted to pay the ultimate price of death for the cause of Christ and others, and in such a way that his death would bring great benefit to the world. Apostle Paul says to the Philippian brethren – Yes, you should rejoice – meaning – Do not grieve at my death when it finally happens, nor should they be overwhelmed with sorrow, but let their hearts be filled with joy and celebration, because of the work God has used him to accomplish on earth.
This statement can only be uttered by a person who does not dread death and has also been convinced that Christ has conquered death. Hear this revelation – Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. {Heb 2: 14 – 15 NLT}.
Do you live a life of rejoicing and always encourage others to rejoice with you because of the benefits of the work of Christ that you’re privileged to enjoy, or do you still live under fear, after Christ has made you free.
Rejoice always in the Lord.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
