The Same Message Part II
While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing. {Gal 2:2 NLT}
If you as a believer fix your eyes on the things that lies ahead of you in Christ, you will not be distracted by the failures of the past that grace has taken care of for you. Our scriptural focus for today states – I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing.
Apostle Paul’s overall purpose for meeting with the church leadership privately, was to ensure that their was agreement in the messages they were all preaching. Whatever our individual assignment’s are as believers, maintaining agreement in the presentation of the gospel of Christ is the beauty of this kingdom, and this was what Apostle Paul was seeking after in the early days of the gospel. In his opinion, disagreement in the presentation of the gospel of Christ will lead to wasted efforts and all his labours in the gospel would have been in vain.
In our generation, there are some gospels being preached by some believers that are in disagreement with the gospel of Christ. Part of our responsibility as representatives of Christ on this earth is to always subject the message we preach to the scrutiny of other believers to ensure that we are at all times in agreement with the purpose of Christ. Let learn the humility of Apostle Paul and not give room to pride, because it will make all your labours in the gospel a waste of time and effort.
Agreement is the strength of the gospel.
Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
