The Gospel Is Love Part II

Beloved,  Do not allow what someone said about you that is not in agreement with God’s plan for your life determine your destiny. Our scriptural focus for today states – So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. {Col 1:9  NLT}
The demonstration of faith and love for others by the Colossian brethren, trigged a continuous chain of prayer for them by Apostle Paul and his team. The information they received about the genuineness of the new birth experience of the Colossian brethren and their ability to put to effective use what was taught them by the Holy Spirit the ministry of Epaphras, also gladdened the heart of Apostle Paul. Their prayer for the Colossian believers was that God will establish them in the true knowledge of His will, and equally give them spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Taking out time to prayer for those who you have brought to Christ, is another means of discipleship and equally a demonstration of the love of Christ. Praying for such people continuously that they be established in the faith is a great sacrifice on you path that has the ability to guide such converts in the path of righteousness.
Jesus modelled this when He informed Peter of the plan of the devil, but added – But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. {Luke 22:32a  NLT}. What an encouragement this was for Peter, what an encouragement it also was for the Colossian brethren to hear that Apostle Paul and his team was in continuous prayer for their spiritual growth. In the same vein, it will be a huge encouragement for someone to find out that you have been in prayer for his/her spiritual growth/establishment.

Stand with one another in Prayer

Have a Grace filled day – Good news awaits you.
