For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. {Eph 5:23 NLT}
Today, we continue our study on the issue of submission as a very important principle for the success or failure of any home, we will be focusing on some of the Responsibilities Headship confers on the husband towards his wife. Our scriptural focus for today states – For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Saviour of his body, the church. Here are some of the responsibilities the husbands role as the head of his wife confers on him when compared with the role of Christ as the head of the church;
1. Protection – It is the sole responsibility of the husband to protect his wife in all situations. The husband should always be ready to rescue his wife from harm.
2. Christ as the saviour, forgave the church, likewise the husband should cultivate a lifestyle of always forgiving his wife, no matter the degree of the offence.
3. Christ as the saviour cares for the church, in the same vein, husband’s should do there best to cherish and care for their wives.
The phrase ‘The Saviour of His Body’ teaches that Christ has the ability to fulfill the responsibilities His Body will ever require. For the husband, you have been given the ability you require to fulfill all your responsibilities towards your wife.
