The Same Message Part III

And they supported me and did not even demand that my companion Titus be circumcised, though he was a Gentile. {Gal 2:3  NLT}

When you commit yourself to honour God with your life irrespective of the situation whether favourable or unfavourable, He in turn will honour you both here on earth and in eternity. Our scriptural focus for today states – And they supported me and did not even demand that my companion Titus be circumcised, though he was a Gentile.
It was very evident that God had called Apostle Paul to minister to the Gentiles who knew nothing about the Jewish religious demands, especially the issue of circumcision which in Judaism was a necessary requirement for a person to be accepted by God. The death and resurrection of Christ had changed all of that yet some Jewish believers had not yet come to terms with this new reality.
So Apostle Paul’s meeting with the church leadership in Jerusalem was very necessary to inform them of the great work Christ was doing among the Gentiles and because the message and purpose for preaching was the same, the church leadership had no difficulty in supporting the work God has called Apostle Paul to do among the Gentiles.
The support Apostle Paul got from his brethren in Jerusalem helped him to also succeed in his calling. Like the action of the church leadership in Jerusalem, we as believers need to support the ministry of other believers who may have been called into other area’s of ministry by God but the message and purpose must be the same for us to succeed together. Their support was not based on any condition, even though Titus who was a Gentile accompanied Paul on the visit. No one is an island, we need the support of each other, especially the church leadership to succeed. The vision may look different from your own calling, don’t castigate it, support it if the message and purpose is the same with that of Christ.

We need each other.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
