Standing Fast II

Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. {Phil 4:2  NLT}

As believers, ensuring that our attitude corresponds with the standard established by God in the scriptures is inevitable. Attitude is a disposition of the heart/mind that determines human behavior and action. Our scriptural focus for today states – Now I appeal to Euodia and Syntyche. Please, because you belong to the Lord, settle your disagreement. The fact that Apostle Paul decided to mention the names of these two women, shows how serious he perceived the situation to be in the Philippian church.
Whenever there is revival going on in the church, the devil does all within his reach to introduce disunity among brethren as a way of destroying such revival, the Philippian revival was not an exemption. The disunity in the Philippian church, to which these two women were playing active roles, was a problem that needed to be taken seriously and dealt with directly.
Apostle Paul’s appeal for reconciliation between these two women was based on the fact that they both belong to the Lord. Often believers forget that we all belong to the same Lord, we have the same saviour, we have the same father and we all share the same faith.
These are the things Christ expects us to focus on, because they are the foundational truths that make for our Peace and Unity as believers. Whenever we lose focus on these like these two women did, disunity and all manner of disagreements becomes the order of the day.
Are there believers you had disagreements with and you have allowed it to degenerate into Malice, hear the advice of the Holy Spirit – because you share the same Father and Faith with those persons, please put aside your personal pride and ego, and take steps today that will bring about your reconciliation with them.

Our union with Christ is the bases for our Unity in the Church.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you.
