Honouring God Part 1
Beloved, If you only see the challenges in your life, you will always face defeat but if you see God as the solution in every challenge then you will always be victorious. Our scriptural focus for today states – Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. {Col 1:10 NLT}
To have the complete knowledge of God’s will and to be equipped with spiritual wisdom and understanding is key to effective Christlike living. No wonder Apostle Paul from when he heard of the faith of the Colossian brethren did not cease in praying for them, that their new lifestyle will conform to the standards of Christ. If they are truly furnished with the knowledge of God’s will and spiritual wisdom and understanding it will always produce lives that will always honour and please God in all things.
Christ died and resurrected, that He will produce humans whose lives will honour and please God on this earth. Christianity, which is the life of Christ is more about honouring and pleasing God through our daily lifestyle, than the services/work we do in the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul is revealing that it is the knowledge of God’s will that a believer has spent time to discover from the undiluted Word of God and spiritual wisdom and understanding born out of the process of prayer that guarantees effective Christian living.
Let your lifestyle always honour God.
