The Irrevocable Promise Part VI

The triumph of Christ over the devil and sin, gave you who have received His victory the privileged life of Grace here on earth. Don’t misuse it for anything in this world. Our scriptural focus for today states – For if the inheritance could be received by keeping the law, then it would not be the result of accepting God’s promise. But God graciously gave it to Abraham as a promise. {Gal 3:18 NLT}
If the inheritance God promised father Abraham and extended to the Gentiles through Christ was to be received by keeping the law, it would no longer have been a promise based on faith. The law was based on rules and regulations which was compulsory, but the Promise was based on faith and obedience.
It is clear that the Promise is different from the law, because while under the law the children of Israel could not receive the inheritance.
The Promise was an oath taken by God in His transaction with father Abraham to guarantee His blessing both in the present and the future of his descendants. Hear this – For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying: I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number. {Heb 6: 13 – 14 NLT}
The Promise was a gift and not an obligation, that is why in Christ all the promises God has blessed His children with are free gifts and no one is an obligation. There are no conditions attached for receiving them other than accepting Christ as your Lord and personal saviour and daily living a life of faith and righteousness. God graciously gave the Promise free to father Abraham and in Christ we enjoy the same privilege.

The Promises of God are freely given.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News Awaits you.
