Faith and Works Part V
When things go wrong in your life, don’t keep focusing and living in the past, dust it off and keep your focus on the things that are going right in your life and keep moving. Our scriptural focus for today states – I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. {Gal 3:5 NLT}
Apostle Paul was drawing of the Galatian Christians attention back to the principles of true spirituality. He was asking – The gift of the Holy Spirit and acts of miracles done by God, is it because they kept the law or was it because they believed the message of Christ?. Apostle Paul has been drawing on some key spiritual principles in the bid to rescue the Galatian Christians from the path of empty religion. It will be important to state that during the era of the law, the Holy Spirit was not resident in the lives of the children of Israel, He only visited when God had special assignment’s to carry out, and that was why the law failed to achieve God’s desired intention for humans.
To receive the Holy Spirit into one’s life and make Him resident there, the person Must first believe the message about Christ and Must keep believing it. The Holy Spirit and the acts of God through miracles all function by faith, which is believing the message of Christ. Remember that without faith it is impossible to please God, because when we humans come to Him, He only requires that we believe that He is the One responsible for our destiny and through our believe, He will bless us here on earth and reward us with eternal life with Him.
God gives the Holy Spirit freely.
