Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. {Phil 1:27 NLT}

Believers need each other and must learn to stand together in contending for this precious faith that has been delivered to us. If we live as the Gospel expects, we will live honest, honourable, truthful and upright lives. Our scriptural focus for today states – Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. It is important to note that we are stronger as a body of believers when we maintain a united front against the devil in our defense of the Faith. The Faith as stated in this scripture is the body or collection of divine truth given to the church, and our duty is to;
1. Know it
2. Defend it at any cost.
One of the greatest challenge the church is facing today is that many have not committed themselves to knowing this body of truth, how then can you defend what you don’t know. Hear this advice – Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. {2Tim 2:15 NLT}
How sad that much time and energy is lost by fighting against one another in the body of Christ, instead of uniting against the real opposition, which is the devil. It takes a proper understanding of the purpose of the church and courage for us as believers to avoid in-fighting and focus on maintaining a united front to both establish the victory of Christ over the devil and to continuously advance the course of the gospel. Lets stand for the gospel with One Spirit and One Purpose.

Our unity is in the gospel.

Have a Grace filled day – Good News awaits you
