Honouring God Part II
Beloved, that you failed in a life pursuit is just a temporary setback, but to now give up is what makes it a permanent setback. Don’t give up, divine help is on your way. Our scriptural focus for today states – Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. {Col 1:10 NLT}
The Christian life is a progressive one. We don’t get to know more of God in one day, but as we follow the instructions of the Holy Spirit we will keep advancing in the knowledge of Christ. The Colossian believers kept advancing in their faith for which it became necessary for Apostle Paul to bring to their notice that their lives will truly please the Lord, when it produces – Every kind of good fruit.
For a fruit to be good, the source which is the tree must be good because every tree is known by its fruit. If you belong to Christ which is that Good Tree, you must produce fruit after the order of Christ. It is your deliberate attachment to the Good Tree that guarantees that you will always produce good fruit. If the way we live daily brings honour to God and pleases Him, then be rest assured that your life will produce good fruit.
Bear in mind that God is not expecting just one kind of fruit from your life, rather He expects Every kind of good fruit. In essence, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He has given every believer the capacity to produce different kinds of fruit depending on the demand. So the capacity to produce the fruit of joy, is the same capacity to produce the fruit of peace, patience, kindness, longsuffering, meekness etc.
