Freedom in Christ Part II
Even that question came up only because of some so-called Christians there—false ones, really—who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations. {Gal 2:4 NLT}
The will of God for your life will not take you to where the grace of God cannot protect you. So in all you do here on earth ensure you’re guided by the will of God for your life. Our scriptural focus for today states – They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations.
Apostle Paul stood against the subtle desire by some religious people that were part of the Jerusalem Christians to compel the Gentile Christians to start observing the Jewish regulations, because it was another avenue to enslave these new believers in Christ. If that was allowed to take place, it would have taken them away from the work of Grace which is based on believing in the finished work of Christ on the cross to the keeping of the law which is based on observing rules and regulations.
Titus having gone with Apostle Paul on this journey, heightened the pressure on both Apostle Paul and the church leadership, but he stood his ground in defence of the gospel of Christ and saved the faith of Titus and other Gentile believers.
In this era, God is in need of men/women of courage who will arise to always defend the work of Christ against those who seek to adulterate it with the observation of rules and regulations that do not have eternal value. Stand up and be counted as a true solider of Christ.
Be bold and courageous for the gospel.
