God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. {Phil 1:8 NLT}
The worth or value of the love Christ has shed in your heart by the Holy Spirit is in way and manner you demonstrate it to your fellow believers and the lost souls around you. Our scriptural focus for today states – God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus. {Phil 1:8 NLT}. The deep yearning and intense compassionate love exhibited by Christ towards humans has been evidently reproduced in the life of Apostle Paul towards the Philippian church. His love and affection for them was based not merely on past experiences, but upon the Unity that comes when believers draw upon the love of Christ. As believers, is the love of Christ the basis for the love we demonstrate both to our fellow believers and the sinners around us?, or are we motivated by some other reasons that are not scriptural to demonstrate love to others?.
As believers, we all belong to the family of God in Christ, and we equally share in the transforming power of Christ love. Apostle Paul expressed how much he longed for the brethren in the Philippian church, this is an expression of the intimate relationship they all shared in Christ. Today do we as believers long for one another’s company, when we remember the love we have shared in Christ in time past and the unity it brought into our individual lives. Let the love of Christ motivate you to always love the brethren around you and to demonstrate this love in the way you treat them.
This affection reaches out to all impartially and without exception.
