Slavery Exposed Part II
Running away from your problems is the wrong approach to life and a race you will never win. God wants you to stand and face every life problem and turn them into stepping stones to your greatness. Our scriptural focus for today states – So now that you know God (or should I say, now that God knows you), why do you want to go back again and become slaves once more to the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world. {Gal 4:9 NLT}
The slavery of the human race continued until the coming of Christ and now that Christ Jesus has been revealed to the world, humans are no longer bound to the slavery of satan. Knowledge they say is power, therefore it will be important to state that the privilege given to humans by Christ to access the knowledge of God is the greatest revelation of the power of God to humans. It was obvious that the Galatian Christians has come to the knowledge of God through the ministry of Apostle Paul but the Holy Spirit had an issue with them. They were not satisfied that God now knows them as His children, they were not satisfied that their knowledge about God through Christ brought them out of slavery to the devil and his world systems.
They began to desire what Apostle Paul describes as the weak and useless spiritual principles of this world, they preferred going back to slavery, like the nation of Israel who preferred going back to the painful bondage of slavery in Egypt than face the temporary discomfort they experienced on their journey to freedom.
Will you prefer to forego all the privileges of knowing God/God knowing you to the perpetual slavery of the devil through the spiritual principles of this world. That God knows you amidst the over seven billion persons living on this planet, is the greatest honour/privilege any human can enjoy on this side of eternity. Let no human/earthly circumstance no matter how difficult it is, make you abandon your freedom in Christ for the eternal slavery of the devil.
Don’t give up your freedom in Christ for anything in the world.
